Living my old company ...

Before I've actually resign from my previous company, many people advice me to stay back to the old company because they offer me better allowance when overseas and most likely its a larger company which is more stable compare to the new company that I just join. Well, I know myself well enough, maybe I'm still young, I love to explore.. I want more challange! I know I'm that kind of person who learn very fast when I'm on Challange mode.

Finally, everything is over with my old company. At first I'm kind of worried that i would regret living the old company, but i end up kind of like the new company that I'm currently in. Thanks to all the intensive work loads from my previous company, now with the 2 years experince I'm able to catch up with the work here easily. In just mearly 3 days I'm here, I've already been assign to a task. I hope there is more challange to come so that i could learn faster. I wish that i could make big money with a promising carrier before I'm 30 !!! so that our dream (me n my brother) to start our retirement by age of 40's :P will come true! haha. Well, thats just kind of AIM which i dont think I would do. Cause if I retired 40 , I will be bored to death!

After I left my old company, I heard all sorts of troubles storming my old company. There are imigresen Issues, delay on Increment, no backdate for the increment (unconfirm). Problems seem to be stacking up all the way. I really hope they could solve the imigresen issue as I worry Some of my friends would be in trouble when they are going in or leaving Jakarta. My excolleague use to says that I leave the company in a very Good time! lolz... Anyhow, all the best to you all!!

After a week in Malaysia

Life was back to normal the day i step back onto Malaysia's soil. But lot of things has to be adjust back. I use to have to wake up on time and catch my daily company van for a trip to the office but now I have to drive myself to office which i would happily like to do so. Lunch time is still the same but I hangout with different colleagues. Dinner time is a bit different for me here in Malaysia. Back then in Jakarta, I've lots of colleagues staying together, where by I can dinner with them anytime. Here in Malaysia, I stay alone in a Town house own by my aunt at Sunway Damansara. It might be bored having dinner alone sometimes but then Its kind of relaxing when u juz wanna get away from the crowd sometimes. When I'm bored of having dinner alone, I will call out my frens and we would have dinner together at where ever I want.

I guess I'm so use to spending in Jakarta. Back to Malaysia if a single lunch cost RM10, I would have say, it is not that expensive at all !!! But then my colleague will start to curse me... LoLz.. Back in Jakarta, cheapest food during lunch would be at WI, which cost roughly RM3 ~ RM4, and for dinner would roughly cost RM10 or better one would be RM20. Here a dinner which cost over RM5 would already been expensive. Haha. I guess i would have to readjust to spend less here in Malaysia.

Lately it has been raining most of the time during the evening. Its actually kind of nice to have a cold weather for a relaxing weekend. But then it spoilt my mood today as i was thinking of going to have a jogging session today. Anyhow, just before it rains, I manage to have a round trip at my housing area which i was planing to do 3 today .. LoLz... hmm.. I wonder when my fren can get me the access to California Fitness so i can join them for Yoga, boxing and of coz swimming :)
Sadly, the weekend is almost over and tomorrow is gonna be another blue monday. Well i guess this is what we call Life. Anyhow I'll get use to it :). Glad that I'm finally back to my motherland.

New Life @ New Job

1st April, today is my first day to start my new job in my new company. I have been longing for working back here in KL for sometime. This morning, i woke up at 8 am then i only start to travel to my working place at 8.30 am. Its not like when I'm in Jakarta. Here i can drive my own car, listen to whatever music i want, drive which ever route i want!

As I reach office, my new colleague and I decides to trick my new boss. We sms him says we want to resign. LoLz. He indeed believe what we says at first because he was still sleeping when we SMS him hence he is still very Blur!! but later on he notice it is April Fool! :P

Anyhow, new job seems to be good to me. Every source seems familiar as the core banking is from my previous company. The only different is that the way we do things and the tools we use. I really hope i can do well here. :)

Regain my Freedom...

18/June/07, the day i touchdown at Jakarta airport for Bank Bumiputra project. That day onwards, my total freedom were reduce to mearly sports and "Wu liao"-ing with my frens in TA appartment here in Jakarta.

27/Mar/08, the last day that i finally left Jakarta heading back to Malaysia. It has been a 6 week stay for me. The moment i step onto Malaysia soil, I have this feel of very much relief... Its kind of like , I'm finally home..

When I'm still working for SL previously, everytime i come back to Malaysia, I'll spend all my time hangout with my frens. This time I've choose to stay home and clean my house a bit as I know i have lots of chances to hang out with my frens :).

Life is so relaxing here in Malaysia. I can go out with my frens and yumcha anytime I wan :).. I finally regain my Freedom...

Last moment in Jakarta

The moment has finally here. 6 weeks ago, I send out my resignation through email. I was suppose to stay for 5 weeks but due to project urgency, my return to Malaysia was extended till 6 weeks of stay.

2 weeks ago, I started to feel "不捨得" . ...
12/3/08 , I had my first farewell dinner with Data warehouse team + DD team, had our dinner at D'Jakarta. The dinner was a double farewell for Ernest (DD) as well. He is leaving on that week, so Im not the main person that day.
16/3/08 , I told them I would like to try Sushi Tei before I leave Jakarta. Siew Ming and Sook Wai insisted that they want to treat me Sushi Tei, end up another farewell lunch for me.
20/3/08 , Its a holiday today, Its gonna be another farewell dinner for me at Tony Romas. LoLz.

Yestarday, many frens start to question me about my feeling as I'm leaving Jakarta. Honestly, i very 不捨得 someone :) . But there is also another feeling building up within me, thats the feeling of boredness.. The Boredness of never-ending farewell. First farewell was on 12/3/08, today is already 27/3/08 yet I'm still here in Jakarta!! haha.

On this final hours, I spend most of the time wishing everyone luck and thank them for everything. I really worried i would have wept infront of them. If i did that Sook Wai would be the first person to laugh loudly! haha.

Lunch today was lonely, last few days i had my lunch with them happily but today i was alone taking my lunch in Hoka2 Bento. As Usual After check in, I had a drink in Starbucks cafe. Today was a bit different for me as it was the last time i would be sitting here in Jakarta airport starbucks. Today I order a drink that i normally do not order, not because it was my last day but because they ran out of Green tea!!! Got myself a Choc chip ice blended instead. :) Taste good too, but a bit too sweet...

I've been coming in and out of Jakarta for 13 times, and this is the view from starbuck cafe. One of the image that i hope to capture before i leave Jakarta.

The moment i actually step into Jakarta project 9 months ago, I told my team member, normally when our team's people step into Jakarta, we can only get out of Jakarta when we resign. I guess that really happens to me now.

My last 2 masterpieces of plan before i leave Jakarta

Its 1.24 am in the morning, and I am still very much awake after a thrilling scene that we made to celebrate my colleague's birthday, ah Lek.

The plan to play jokes on colleagues birthday event started the night before. We were actually planning a birthday surprise for my senior Weng Keong on 22.03.08. My teammate (Chien) suggested me to make it a huge @ Serious one since I'm already leaving the company as a memorable one for all of them. The whole scene were join up by minor minor puzzle that we figure out and put in together as a story.

1st night (Weng Keong Birthday , 22.03.08)

Time : 0000 hours (22/03/08)

Early Preparation :

1. Tricking Jaa Yeon to pass over her house key by saying that we will give Weng Keong a birthday celebration.
2. Sms JY to tell her that the Celebration were cancel because Sook Wai was not around.
3. At the Same time SW sms JY to says sorry that she is not around and the Celebration has to be pospone to tomorrow.

Event Preparation :

1. Candle placed across the masterroom walkway.
2. SW's messy hair were partly shown by the sidewalls, and ready to vanish seconds after WK notice her head.
3. Jane and JC went to the room next to the masterroom to make weird noise.
4. TV will be switch on and off by me.

Event :

1. Main power switch is turn off.
2. Jane and JC starts to make scratching sounds and knocking sounds on the room beside.
3. Weng Keong thought it was a short circuit and wanted to switch back on the main power.
4. Once he open the door, he notice an object (SW's head) moving slowly backwards.
5. He was not dare to come out at first. After deciding a few moment he came out and search for the object with his torchlight.
6. Failed to located the object he become more ancious and he wanted to flee back to his room.

The Failure :

• The moment he wanted to flee to his room. The TV volume start to get louder. Due to the TV volume, he had a glance towards the TV, and saw my feet!!! Gosh .. what a failure.. haha.

The Ending :

Wei Wei jump and shout towards him, then we started to sing birthday song.

Conclusion :

The plan was 80% successful.


2nd night (Lek's Birthday, 23.03.08)

Due to the thrilling fun last night, Saw Yih (Lek's roomate) requested me to make another plan for the night. They wanted something frightening as similar with it, but then i decided to be a bit more creative and use new ideas. Instead of another boring Ghost story event, I plan it up as a Murder case (sounds more realistic). I've made some improvement towards the day 1 event to prevent failure on this mission. There will be less acting in this senario.

Early Preparation :

1. Fake blood is being mix with colouring and some sause to make it look dark red.
2. Crystal will watch movie in the room with ah Lek without knowing what had we prepare for him.
3. Crystal will be the Key person to keep him in the room.

Event Preparation :

1. Fake blood are spilt on the walkway from the room towards the dinning room.
2. Traces of body being drag from the room towards the dinning table.
3. Butcher Knife is being place on the walkway to make it more realistic.

Event :

1. Main Switch is turn off.
2. YW bang her room door from inside and started to shout!
3. Sound of banging the door were being made from inside by me and YW to make it sounds like someone is attacking her.
4. Moment of silence after the attack, Ah Lek open up his room door to check out the situation.
5. He become frighten and lock his room door immediately in less then 3 seconds.
6. I came out of YW's room and started to make noise on his door knob. Sounds of trying to crank open his door.
7. After repeatedly cranking on his door, everyone made their preparation with the birthday cake.
8. After waited for a while that he didnt show up. We started to sing birthday songs to end the senario.

The Ending :

Everyone had a good laugh on him as we scare the shit out of him! YEAH!

Conclusion :

Plan 100% successfull! He had an Unforgetable birthday surprise from us..... and dont expect him to come and save you if something happens :P

Last few days in Jakarta

I remember i first step into Jakarta was on 25 Sept 2006. Maybank Jakarta was my 2nd project for my company and my first in Jakarta. Before i agree to step in to Jakarta, my senior promised me that he would bring me back to KL after 3 months, and he kept his promise.

18 June 2007, I agree to another senior that i would lend a helping hand to him as Bank Bumiputera in Jakarta were to start development using SQL2005. To me, this is a whole new oppurtunity for me to strenghten my programming especially in SQL and widen my knowledge through Microsoft SQL2005.

Early January this year, I was approach by a headhunter from another company. He offered me a very well paid salary compare to my current company. I rejected his offer at first because I didn't want to leave my undone job to others. After a few talks and negotiation, i've figure out that there is a brighter future in the new company. By then, I've decided to leave, but my decision was to leave only after my current project went live. I told this to one of my good friend in my current project. She advice me that if I'm to leave my current company, I should leave earlier as my senior can seek for someone to replace my current position. After 1 months ++ analysing the situation, I've decide that i have to move on.

My decision to resign from my current company wasn't an easy one. When I first come to Jakarta for this project, I know that it will take me sometime before i can be located back to KL. Life is so lame and routine here. First two months here was no doubt the worse ever in my life due to the boredness of staying here. Things started to turn better when more colleagues come to join me from Malaysia. With this bunch of colleague, we have our laughter, this really helps a lot in reducing the boredness when Im in Jakarta. We even orgarnise trip to make our life happier here in Jakarta. I've went to Bandung, rafting, puncak, safari and pulau putri with this bunch of colleagues.

When i send off my resignation letter, everyone was very shock. No one has expected me to leave as they thought that I was always happy here. I must admit there are a lot of sweet and happy memories that i've obtain from here. Thanks to everyone, they meant a lot to me. :)

Now, its almost time for me to says goodbye with them. I wont be working with them anymore, we wont be laughing during lunch time together anymore. We wont be spending the weekend playing badminton together anymore. I've never know leaving a company would be so hard, especially when all ur colleagues stay together with me and work together as a team. The feeling is like leaving a family behind.

All i could says is, its hard for me to leave you all behind. Anyhow, Thank you all for everything! and all the best to you guys! I will keep these happy memories with me all the time. Thank you Again.. :)
