My Ipod Touch

Iphone from Apple has been the latest trend lately. It has been sometimes since many phone loves awaiting for its official sales in Malaysia, but not me, I'm getting old for all these :P and Don't wish to spend any more unnecessary gadgets that will be updated by another model within a year or so. Well, that is just me.

Ipod Touch has been around for almost 2 years (since Sept 2007), and on Sept 2008, Apple release their newer version of the Ipod Touch @ 2G. I just got mine officially 3 days ago :P, and its free of cause :P. My brother won it during his company annual dinner a year ago. He is not impress with it as it size is to big for him to bring around if he were to go jogging. It has been collecting dust for a least 2 months when he is aboard at Dubai. It is the first generation of the Ipoh Touch which has a slower processor clock speed at 412 MHz, while the 2nd generation has a 533 Mhz processor. I like the size of it which is very thin. And featuring a multi touch-screen capability.

As Usual, my brother are very rude in using things, thus this Ipod Touch is full of scar due to scratches. LoLz. Anyhow, its free, so no complains. The Ipod Touch holds a memory Capacity of 8GB where there is higher range series with 16GB or 32GB. (Iphone only has 8GB or 16GB capacity)

Here comes a Special Iphone, its called an "Iphone alike" phone. Its an imitation from some china manufacturer. Brother thought it is quite funny and cheap so he bought it 2nd hand from his fellow friend. Who sold him at a price of RM300. It has a micro SD slot with 2 SIM card capability! Gosh .. It is able to activate both SIM at the same time. Amazing for a imitation product. LoLz.

The look was totally same as the IPhone but a bit smaller. If you never seen an IPhone you might have thought it was the real thing. But once you held it on your hand, you know its FAKE because its very light and you can fell the build quality is simply CRAP!

The IPhone suppose to be 0.2 Inches longer then the IPod Touch, But from this image, you can see that the "IPhone Alike" is much more smaller.

The screen size is noticable smaller then the IPod Touch as well. IPod Touch measures a 3.5" Screen size, not sure about the IPhone alike.

Once the screen is activated, the imitation IPhone totally imitated even the lock screen. But the colour of the screen looks dull compares to the IPod Touch. The Slide to unlock for the IPhone Alike is very difficult to use @ Bad touch screen! You might get fustrated when you try to unlock the IPhone Alike if you use the real IPhone / IPod Touch before.

The main menu have the same looks, but don't expect anything from the IPhone Alike. Its just a stupid phone which tries to imitated the IPhone.

After exploring the IPod Touch for few days, I've decided to upgrade it to the latest version firmware 2.2.1. But once I've done it, I can't install unofficial application into it. So i google and found the latest way to jailbreak it. And It was successful. Anyhow, I bought my first application from ITunes which is the "WHO HAS THE BIGGEST BRAIN?" game offer from Playfish. Currently its having an offer price of 0.99 USD.

The IPod Touch looks fun to me, don't know when I would get bored with it. But anyhow, its free. So no worries. I'm keeping it to keep track my daily expenses nowadays :D.

Iphone official launched in Malaysia by one of our major service provider (Operator M) but to me its very much over priced. And not worthit for now. As for the IPod Touch, for a price of RM900 compare to an IPhone 8GB , which is RM2500. I think it is much more worthit.
